Cashfold
Envelope budgeting. No bank login, ever.
Money arrives, you put it into envelopes, you spend from envelopes, and whatever is left in an envelope stays there. That last part is the whole method — an envelope that resets every month is just a budget line wearing a different name.
No bank login. Ever.
Cashfold never asks for your bank credentials, and there is no aggregator holding them on our behalf. Connecting accounts the usual way needs a server, an account to attach it to, and a third party in the middle — and it means somebody, somewhere, has a copy of your banking logins.
The cost is a few seconds per transaction. What it buys is that there is nothing to breach, because there is nothing held.
No account, and no server of ours
No sign-up, no email address, no password. Your budget lives on your iPhone and syncs through your own iCloud, in a private database only your Apple Account can read. We have no access to it.
The free tier is not a demo
Free, permanently
- Unlimited envelopes and groups
- Carryover — money left in an envelope stays there
- Unlimited transactions, splits and transfers
- Every transaction and allocation, forever
- Paycheck planning and envelope filling
- Widgets, Lock Screen, Control Center and Siri
- iCloud sync
Carryover is free, and so are unlimited envelopes. Both are the method itself — charging for either ships a broken product wearing the method's name. Your history is never gated either: hiding your own spending record behind a subscription reads as ransom, and it is your money, not ours.
Pro is for the reports
Trends over time, automatic fill rules on payday, a debt payoff planner, importing a statement file your bank already gives you, export, and multiple budgets.
