About Utileau

Utileau is a small software studio based in the Fox Valley. We build websites and internal tools for businesses that have been quoted $8,000 for a five-page site and walked away.

The work is deliberately narrow. We do two things: fast, well-marked-up websites that rank locally, and custom applications for businesses that have outgrown a spreadsheet. We are not an agency, there is no account manager, and you talk to the person writing the code.

We run several studios under one roof, each built for a specific kind of business. A contractor and a café want completely different things from a website, and pretending otherwise is how you end up with a template.

How the pricing works

Most projects start at nothing up front and $99 a month. That covers hosting, SSL, security updates, and small changes as your business changes. There is a twelve-month term, which is what makes the no-money-down part possible.

If you would rather not commit to a term, most sites can be paid for up front with a smaller hosting charge after. Either way your domain is registered in your name from day one, and everything you write and upload is yours.

The website's code stays ours — we keep it hosted, patched, and running, which is what makes the monthly price work. Custom software is the exception: if we build you an application, that code is delivered to you and it is yours.
