Cashfold Terms of Use

By using Cashfold you agree to these terms.
1. What Cashfold is
Cashfold is an iPhone app for envelope budgeting. You record money as it arrives, assign it to envelopes, and record what you spend from them. It is published by Utileau.
2. Not financial advice
Cashfold is not a bank, a financial adviser, or a regulated financial service.
It is a record-keeping tool that does arithmetic on figures you enter. Nothing it shows you is financial, tax, investment or debt advice, and every decision you make with it is yours.
It holds no bank credentials and connects to no financial institution. Every figure in it is one you typed or imported from a file you downloaded yourself, so its accuracy is a reflection of what you put in.
If you are in financial difficulty, speak to a qualified adviser or a non-profit debt charity rather than relying on a budgeting app.
3. Your data is yours
We do not collect, store or have any access to your data. See the Privacy Policy.
Because your budget lives on your device and in your own iCloud account, you are responsible for keeping it. Deleting the app, signing out of iCloud, losing the device or using “Delete all data” will remove it, and we cannot recover it for you — we never had a copy. Use the export function if the record matters to you.
4. Cashfold Pro
Cashfold is free to use, and the free tier is not a trial. Unlimited envelopes, carryover, unlimited transactions and your full history are free and stay free.
Some additional features require a subscription or a one-off lifetime purchase. Purchases are made through Apple, not through us.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Lifetime is a one-off purchase tied to your Apple Account. It does not renew.
- Restore Purchases is in the paywall. Use it on a new device.
We cannot issue refunds. Apple processes every payment and handles every refund. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Prices and what each tier includes may change. Changes never affect a period you have already paid for, and a lifetime purchase stays valid for the features it covered.
5. Acceptable use
Do not reverse-engineer, redistribute or resell the app, and do not use it to break the law.
6. No warranty
Cashfold is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise it will be free of bugs, that it will work on every device or iOS version, or that it will remain available.
Because the app has no server component, it keeps working on your device whatever happens to us, and your exports keep opening in anything that reads CSV or JSON.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Utileau is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, for any loss of data, or for any financial decision taken using the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid us in the preceding twelve months.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
