Cashfold Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 September 2026
The short version
Cashfold has no account, no server of ours, no analytics, and no bank credentials.
Your budget stays on your iPhone and, if you have iCloud switched on, in your own iCloud account. We cannot see it, and there is nothing for us to lose.
What we collect
Nothing. There is no sign-up, no email address, no password, no user identifier, no device identifier and no advertising identifier. The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporter and no advertising SDK.
Our App Store privacy label says Data Not Collected, and that is accurate.
We never hold bank credentials
Cashfold does not ask for a bank login, and no aggregator holds one on our behalf. This is the reason the app exists in the shape it does: connecting accounts the usual way requires a server, an account to attach it to, and a third party in the middle holding your banking credentials.
If you import a statement file your bank has given you, that file is read on your device. It is not uploaded anywhere, and it involves no network request at all.
What Cashfold stores, and where
Everything you enter — envelopes, transactions, transfers, payees, accounts, debts and your settings — is stored on your device.
If iCloud is switched on for Cashfold, that data is also stored in your own iCloud account, in a private database only your Apple Account can read. This is the same mechanism Apple's own Notes and Reminders apps use. We have no access to it. Apple's handling of your iCloud data is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
If iCloud is switched off, Cashfold works exactly the same, but the data exists only on that one device. The app says which of the two states you are in, in Settings.
Notifications
Bill and payday reminders are local notifications, scheduled on your device. There is no push server and we hold no device token. Nothing about them reaches us.
Purchases
Cashfold Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment, not us. We never see your card details, your billing address or your Apple Account.
We use RevenueCat to check whether a purchase is valid. It receives an anonymous, randomly generated identifier and the receipt Apple issued — not your name, your email, or anything from your budget.
We cannot issue refunds. Apple handles them — see the terms.
Deleting your data
There is no account to delete, so there is nothing held anywhere for us to remove.
Delete the app and the on-device copy goes with it. To also remove the iCloud copy, use Settings → Delete all data inside the app first. It offers you an export before it does anything, and it cannot be undone.
Children
Cashfold does not collect data from anyone, of any age. There is no account to create and nothing to transmit.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights over personal information a company holds about you. Utileau holds none. Your budget is on your device and in your own iCloud, under your control at all times, and the export function gives you a complete copy whenever you want one.
Changes
If any of the above ever changes — if the app ever gains analytics, a crash reporter, ads or a server — this policy and the App Store privacy label will be updated in the same release that changes the behaviour, never afterwards.
